We had a really nice New Year's Eve at home with the kids. We were planning on hanging out with friends, but they got sick. Plan B was just being together at home. Brock made us an awesome dinner of Steak & Lobster Tails. It was so yummy.
We had planned to go out for some frozen yogurt, but nothing was open on New Year's Eve...not even Cold Stone. We ended up finding a Dairy Queen open and getting our fill of ice cream there. We went home and got the kids ready for bed, but they had no desire to go to sleep. Brock and I decided to let them stay up since it was New Years.
This was the scene at our house when the clock struck midnight.
Brock was barely awake. The last time we were awake to ring in the new year it was before we had kids.
The first day of 2009 we all slept in after our late night. Brock and Colten went to work out in our front yard raking leaves. After they raked all the leaves together Colten and Paige enjoyed jumping and playing in them.

Mmm...that meal looks mighty tasty! If it was Jonathan's way, we'd eat like that every night.
The picture of Brock at midnight made me laugh out loud. Jonathan looked similar, but this year I at least got a kiss. Last year we were already in bed.
And who rakes leaves in January? Ours are covered by mounds of snow.
